Lee Ashworth, Head of People Operations
Lee Ashworth is the founder of ScaleX Consulting, a business management and recruitment company. Lee grew up in South Africa and the UK and graduated from the University of Brighton.
Before starting as a Specialist Recruiter for the life sciences industry, Lee spent six years working for Merck Sharpe and Dohme and Sanofi-Aventis as a Key Account Manager. In 2006, Lee transitioned into the recruitment industry, where he quickly built a name for himself as the ‘go-to’ person for service delivery and attracting talent within the market. Sixteen years on, Lee has worked with most of the major players within the life sciences market and startups/scaleups across the UK and Europe.
Let Lee and his team properly-implemented a ‘people strategy which will help grow your business and take it to the next level. Lee advocates people-centric practices and is experienced in delivering in faced-paced, ambiguous environments.
When Lee is not supporting his team, he spends time with his family, standup paddleboarding or pushing himself at Crossfit.

Rowan has over 15 years of commercial experience in Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
With a background in Molecular Virology and a passion for science and technology Rowan moved into sales with roles at leading companies Bio-Rad and Life Technologies. Management and executive leadership roles followed at Covaris and Fluidic Analytics, Congenica and Formulatrix before working in consultancy roles for start-up and scale up companies.
Rowan has a deep understanding of the Genomics and Molecular markets, and has operated in the Proteomic analysis market, with more recent experience in Liquid handing and lab automation.
Experienced and networked across academia, biotech, diagnostic and health-care sectors and with experience of Sales, Marketing, Market Analysis and coaching high performing teams, Rowan provides the expertise to help drive the next stage of your company’s growth.

With over 15 years Marketing experience, Abbie owns a Marketing agency based in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Steve has been heavily involved in laboratory workflow, laboratory IT solutions and global product launches. He has worked for several global diagnostic companies including Olympus Diagnostics, Beckman Coulter and The Binding Site group, as well a LIMS provider.

Arlene is an experienced Executive Assistant with experience in Recruitment Resourcing and Client Management since 2015.
Responsible for establishing effective and ongoing client and candidate communications. Adept at analysing client requirements and maintaining productive relationships. Her strong organisational skills come in handy internally and externally, allowing ScaleX Consulting to run efficiently and ensuring client projects are executed successfully.
Arlene believes mindfulness in the workplace is key to success – a tenet she lives out through her interests in meditation, gardening, and singing. She spends most of her free time at home with her family.
Isabella Pierboni, Business Support Manager
Isabella is a consummate professional and is known for approaching all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset; and is passionate about helping find solutions to any challenges. She brings an extensive background in customer service from the restaurant industry.
